Forget about the crappy White Castle and local pub sliders, The Slide Ride food truck is where it’s at. They sell some of the best slider sandwiches in Chicago – maybe even the best. For only $9, you get three sliders, which are a taste of heaven. These are not your ordinary cheeseburger sliders. Every sandwich is made with a gourmet homemade bun, a few varieties of meats, and some rather unusual toppings. My personal favorite is the Cubano, which has pulled pork, ham, swiss cheese, pickles, and a mustard mojo sauce on a ciabatta bun.
The desert heat slider is about as close as it comes to a traditional burger slider, but it is anything but traditional. It has a black angus hamburger paddy, a corn and pepper salsa, and some kind of spicy sauce served on a sesame roll.
Not every slider at The Slide Ride food truck is made from non-traditional ingredients. They do also have ones like the ribeye slider, which has your basic ribeye and carmelized onion served on a pretzel bun.
These sliders are amazing, and definitely worth checking out. For locations, you can follow them on Twitter @theslideride.
