Forget all the farmers markets, this weekend Videnovich Farms of Michigan came to Bridgeport at Jackalope Coffee and Tea House at 32nd and Halsted for a pop up pumpkin patch. In the city, we don’t have space for pumpkin patches. So what are people to do for their fall pumpkin fix? Come down to Bridgeport as farmers drive truckloads of pumpkins and other fresh produce to neighborhood hotspots for a pop up pumpkin patch.
Of course I loaded up on my share of pumpkins for Halloween, but the fresh produce was even more enticing. Videnovich Farms brought in fresh poblanos, hungarian peppers, jalapenos, bell peppers, gourds, and several varieties of basil. As a home cook, I was in heaven. These were the best peppers and basil I had ever tasted. Check out Videnovich Farms and Jackalope Coffee and Tea House to learn about more pop up pumpkin patches in the area Now I am not one who likes coffee shops. I hate them, but I am strangely drawn to Jackalope for the atmosphere and community. I should also mention the chamomile tea… I LOVE the chamomile tea!
These are some of the Jack-O-Lanterns I made from my pumpkins from Videnovich Farms.
